The Socks they call Jayne....

I'm a big fan of the (sadly cancelled) Scifi series "Firefly" and have knitted many of the red / orange / hats that the character Jayne is famous for.
So, I thought, why not socks to match!

And the result is handspun bloke kneesocks :) A friend will be getting these as an early Christmas present..

Yarn is merino/ tussah silk, and the socks were knitted on 2.5 mm bamboo needles.
I used my memorised version of the basic toe-up sock from the Twisted Sisters sock workbook, with a sort-of hurdle stitch texture (2 rows 2 x 2 rib followed by 2 rows of garter stitch).
Thanks for looking! (And thanks to my Dad, for being my sock model).
