Odessa - 100% and a slow Sockapalooza start.

Two people in my department at Hobby Lobby are gone this week and that meant a long 45 hour week for me. Have I mentioned that I'm only supposed to be part-time? And all this rain is driving me nuts! I really hate rain, and torrential rains that cause your room to flood are the worst! I woke up at 6 this morning to find half of my room flooded, so a good portion of today was spent cleaning that up. These rains hitting the Midwest suck and suck haaard.

But there has been some knitting -

I finished Grumperina's Odessa from Magknits. Ever since she made this for her cousin, Sarit, I've been wanting to try this pattern. I used less than one ball of RYC Cashsoft and maybe 100-150 beads that I picked up from the clearance rack at work. It's my first effort at knitting with beads, and I'm pretty pleased with it.

Here's an action shot! Isn't my hair getting sooo long?!

On the Sockapaloooza front, there has been progress, but I don't know how long it'll last. Here's what I have so far:

That's a modified version of Jaywalker - yes I'm all about Grumperina and Magknits today! I'm using Artyarns Supermerino which is a larger gauge sock yarn, but I don't think I like it in this particular pattern. I don't think this showcases the beauty of the yarn.

I'm wondering if I should rip that out and restart the sock using this yarn:

This is a really beautiful Space Dyed Blue Face Leicester from Silver Creek Yarns that was given to me by a Secret Pal. It's so pretty that I've been saving it for something really special, but I really think that my Sock Pal is that special. I think she'd really appreciate it.

Then again, I may just try another pattern with the Artyarns Supermerino - it is so incredibly soft!
