i found this post to be extremely inspiring, and have decided that i need to knit a sweater. more specifically, that sweater.

however, the suggested yarn is a little too much. i'm also a complete beginner with most things, so

would i be able to substitute, maybe, wool of the andes? apologies if i'm totally off base and if that's completely a bad idea, but i don't know, the price tag is so tempting. would i be able to manage it, if i moved the needle size down? and has anyone made anything with wool of the andes; could anyone tell me about the yarn?

and if that is a terrible idea, can anyone suggest some cheaper (but good quality) yarns that i could substitute for rowan wool cotton?

thank you!
