Reinforcing sock heels

Hi everyone,
I'm knitting the Snowflake socks from Magknits, using Lang Jawoll, which comes with matching reinforcement thread, which I've never used before. Since it's not included in the pattern, I just want to double check that what I'm doing is right: Use the reinforcement thread through the heel flap and turning the heel; then stop before I start knitting the gussets? The ten rows of heel-turning just look shorter than the socks I've made before (though I guess these are unstretched) so a side-by-side comparison looks a little odd/off to me, as if the heel should go on for longer, I guess.

Thanks for any help :)
